The dictionary meaning of the word “issue maker” is “a person who often creates a street that can become an issue.” Then, who is a player who can be called an issue maker on the KPGA Korean Tour?

It is Heo In-hoe (36, Geumgang Housing). He swept 23 wins when he was an amateur. He entered the tour in 2008 and has since created a number of issues. His performance was also supported, including five wins in his career. So I was able to draw more attention.

He won his first victory at the “Philos Open” in 2008. He won the 2014 Japan Tour “Doshin Golf Tournament” with a final total of 28-under 260. It was a win by setting a record for the lowest at-bats in the 72 holes of the Japan Tour. That year, it ranked first in average drive distance in Korea and Japan. He was named the first player in both countries to become the king of long hits at the same time.

Heo In-hoe joined the military in December 2014 and served as a member of the Armed Forces Sports Unit. In the meantime, it topped the “11th Dongbu Fire & Marine Insurance Promy Open” in 2015. He even won the title of the first Korean player to win as an active soldier.

At the 2016 SK Telecom Open, he succeeded in hole-in-one while playing alone without a caddy. In the “Kolon 59th Korean Open,” he proposed to his wife at the venue after the end of the second round. It became a big issue.

Heo In-hoe will mark his 16th season on the KPGA Korean Tour. At this time of year, they are busy preparing for the season as usual. However, this year, I am waiting for the opening with a special heart. It is because of my son who was born last month.

Heo In-hoe said, “I was busy preparing for the season and raising children. When I came to my senses, I was surprised that the opening was just around the corner. He is a newborn, but when his wife is in a situation, he brings his son to the venue to cheer for him. I’m already excited to play in front of my son. “I hope the season starts soon,” he said.

“I will raise my son as a golfer. When you start walking, you will become familiar with golf and create an environment where you can feel interested. I plan to give lessons myself if possible. I’m confident,” he said.

Heo In-hoe’s most recent victory is the ’40th GS Caltex Maekyung Open’ in 2021. Last year, he failed to lift the trophy. However, he participated in 21 competitions, which are pre-season competitions. In the TOP10, he participated in the top 10 four times and showed consistency in passing the cut in 16 competitions. In the average number of putts, the average number of putts was 1.67 when hitting the green. It topped the list for the second consecutive year following 2021 (1.71).

Heo In-hoe said, “Put is always a part that I think is lacking. He practices the most. I feel rewarded because it seems to be working. In 2022, iron shots did not follow as expected compared to putts. Throughout the winter, he focused on correcting the direction so that he could use the iron shot more elaborately. “We will be able to play more accurately this season,” he said.

Heo In-hoe also does his best in ‘fan service’. You never lose your smile in any situation, anytime, anywhere. It kindly accepts fans’ autograph and photo requests. During the game, fans are enthusiastic with pleasant ceremonies and performances.

Heo In-hoe said, “It’s a natural thing to do as a professional player for the fans who always support us. I’m the type to gain strength when I have fans. So I was really happy to have the gallery enter since last season. The charm of the KPGA Korean Tour is its dynamism. “If all players on this season’s tour show a cooler performance, the popularity of the KPGA Korean Tour will rise even more,” he said.

Finally, Heo In-hoe also revealed his goal for the 2023 season. “There is a competition that always dreams of winning while on tour. It’s the KPGA Championship. Any KPGA Korean Tour player would feel the same way. He vowed to prepare carefully for the rest of the season and make sure to lift the trophy of the 66th KPGA Championship with A-ONE CC.”

Heo In-hoe will participate in the “Timefolio Asset Management Winners Match Play,” which will open at Blackstone Jeju on the 28th, and enter a full-fledged practice mode.

The KPGA Korean Tour player and one male player from the Korea Elementary School Golf Federation play together in a pair. Heo In-hoe, who reached the top of the main competition in 2022, will compete as a “defending champion.”
